I am a graduate of Western Washington University, earning a degree in Medieval and Modernist Literature, with concentration in composition studies and linguistics. I have also earned my CELTA certificate to teach English as a second language. I taught in Paris, France, for several years as an English as a second language instructor to students of all age groups, while at the same time mastering my own French skills! My teaching philosophy involves developing strong critical-thinking skills and encouraging self-expression in my students, so I am most enthusiastic about tutoring writing courses.
