Hi! I am Stephen and I currently reside in Bothell, WA. I am originally from the United Kingdom. I am a graduate of Western Washington University, earning a degree in Medieval and Modernist Literature, with concentration in composition studies and linguistics. I have also earned my CELTA certificate to teach English as a second language. I taught in Paris, France, for several years as an English as a second language instructor to students of all age groups, while at the same time mastering my own French skills! My teaching philosophy involves developing strong critical-thinking skills and encouraging self-expression in my students, so I am most enthusiastic about tutoring writing courses. I am also able to tutor courses in reading, essay editing, phonics, literature, English, French 1 and 2, public speaking, elementary mathematics, pre-algebra, and algebra 1. I am also able to assist with the IB extended essay exam. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and working as a freelance illustrator.
