Experience
I have a strong interest in sharing my knowledge with others because I have seen what a difference learning can make in individual lives. After getting my associate degree, I became a corrections deputy, employed by the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. While working there, I devoted myself to trying to enrich the lives of the inmates and to improving the facility's operation. It was very rewarding to be able to influence inmates towards more successful lifestyles.Having this chance to provide public service sparked my interest in pursuing a legal career. I am now a student at the University of Washington School of Law. Here at the Law School, I have had the opportunity to teach others. I find it very satisfying to share my expertise and to see students succeed because I was able to assist them with my methods of explaining difficult concepts. My tutoring skills have been enriched by working with learners from many different societal backgrounds. I hope that, as an attorney, I will be able to broaden my influence in whatever legal specialty I choose. It's a privilege to be able to give guidance to people in need and to meet the challenges that the study of the law presents.
